This week’s tool: Baby Wubbers Bent Nose Pliers, #PLR-1139

Demonstration by Kate, JewelryTools.com

Perfect for opening jump ring after jump ring after jump ring and then closing the three together: it’s the little bent nose pliers by Wubbers, the "Baby" edition, perfect for small hands or pick-up jobs: when you don’t need to grip the pliers for continuous periods of time. These Baby Wubbers are only 5" long with 24mm jaws, and have comfortable grips that make you feel like you’re having fun making jewelry – as should be!

Are you looking for bent nose pliers with bigger handles? Try the Wubbers Classics, which are 6-1/2" long with 25mm long jaws: Classic Wubbers Bent Nose Pliers on JewelryTools.com or Classic Wubbers Bent Nose Pliers on Wire-Sculpture.com.

I’ve tried bent-nose pliers, and I finally decided that I’d be better served to learn a gentle touch with my flat-nose pliers. I have a clearer sense of my leverage with them.

I love the bent nose pliers, especially in closing jump rings, in fact if I have the flat nose and the bent nose, closing the rings are a snap, don’t have any Wubbers yet but have heard only good things about them, I do have a birthday coming up, but Mother’s day is closer-decisions, decisions.
