What do Delta, Wal-Mart and Sports Illustrated all have in common?

Well, if you’ve walked into a Wal-Mart recently, flown with Delta or picked up the most recent edition of Sports Illustrated, chances are you noticed the pink ribbons that have so quickly become the icon for breast cancer awareness. October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness month and so it is being heavily publicized right now among many different companies.

Breast Cancer has been around for ages, but it was just recently that the awareness started really pick up. In fact, it was only in 1993 that the Breast Cancer Research Foundation was founded by Evelyn Lauder. That same year the pink ribbon was established as the official icon for breast cancer awareness.

And as they say, the rest is history. Today, the pink ribbon is known all around the world and seen just about everywhere. You can see the ribbon in grocery stores, in magazines, at public rallies and events, on television, in movies and in countless other places.

So, what does the pink ribbon have to do with Wire-Sculpture.com and the countdown to the end of the DVD presale?

Good question…

We ALL know SOMEONE who has suffered from breast cancer or know someone who has a relative or friend struggle with it. Seeing that kind of suffering take place is hard for any of us to watch or to go through ourselves.

In fact I just got off the phone with one of my good friends not too long ago and his sister (who is only 31 by the way) just found out that she has breast cancer and she is really struggling trying to cope with that.

All of us here are Wire-Sculpture.com know and can sympathize with anyone who is trying to deal with these overwhelming feelings. That is why we have decided to give back this month.

For EVERY DVD purchased during the DVD Presale (This lasts until October 31st), we’ll donate a portion of the sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This includes all the DVDs that have already been purchased and all the DVDs that will be purchased before the 31st.

We hope that you can help pitch in for this great cause! We hope and pray that one day there will be a cure and that the research foundation no longer will need to exist, but until then we will do all that we can to help advance the progress of finding that cure!

Click here to purchase one of these DVDs and help out in this great cause!

Talk to you soon!

I’ve learned a lot from your excellent replies to questions. However, a word has come up that I’m not sure I understand. What does “plated” wire mean??
