Hi, I just wanted to say that I put one end of the wire in a small vice that I have clamped to my work desk. It just seems easier for me to have one hand free to either twist the wire with a pin vice (with both hands). It goes faster that way, or using a cordless dremmel tool with the chuck that you provide for twisting wire.

I have to tell you that Dale’s instructions are the best. I’ve tried many, but hers are the clearest and most direct that I have seen. I just ordered her new Wirework with DVD from Interweave and can’t wait to receive it!

    Hello
I’am brand new to wire wrapping. I’am having trouble twisting the wire evenly using the drill method. I get a very tight twist at each end and a longer twist is the middle. I’am using 22g square half hard wire. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Betty, it’s the ‘nature of the beast’ (or product). To quote a previous answer: my wire does not always twist consistently either! If you can, twist some wire veerry slooowly and watch it. You will see that the wire twists at both ends, each toward the center, meeting in the middle. This means that the middle does not twist as tightly as each end.

The only way to always have a consistently twisted piece of wire is to plan for about 1/4-inch on each end to twist more tightly and then cut those ends off.
