Question:

I have small pieces of gold fill, brass, copper and sterling wire left over.  Do you know of any place or way to recycle these?

Answer:

Many recycle centers will take your base metal scraps, and most jewelry stores and pawnshops are accepting sterling silver and 14/20 gold-filled. Be sure that all of your metals have been properly sorted first!

    Does this apply to broken, but fired, pieces of Silver Clay too ?

      Yes, you can recycle ‘broken, but fired, pieces of Silver Clay’ as well, as it is silver!

    Some suppliers will buy back scrap as well. You just fill in a form and they weigh it (has to be separated, gold, silver, etc.) and they will give you credit on your next order.

    Check with your supplier.

    Look at suppliers on the Internet. Many will buy back sterling or gold filled. For copper or brass, look at local scrap dealers. Though not as valuable as gold or silver, brass, bronze, and copper are valuable. I have picked up brass at a local shooting range, and made more than enough to pay my gas back and forth.
