Think Spring OOAK Contest – Contest Winners!

Thank you to everyone who submitted designs for our Think Spring Contest! We received some beautiful designs which has made our choice very diffucult, but we’ve made our decision!

And the Winners are…

1st Place Winner – Wings of Spring

Story Behind the Creation: Spring comes a bit later to us than much of the U.S. as we live on a river that separates Minnesota from Canada and it is spring when the robins and all the seagulls and water fowl come back. My neck piece, Wings Of Spring, reminds me of those birds in flight.

2nd Place Winner – Wrapped in Spring

Story Behind the Creation: Inspired by the green cabochon, the necklace “Wrapped in Spring” represents the new vine that twists and spirals with laced buds, holding the promise of beauty and a new beginning that is Spring.

Olga Receives: $150 Gift Certificate to Wire-Sculpture.com AND either an assortment of 1 gross (144 pieces) Swarovski® beads OR 2 individual DVDs of choice.

3rd Place Winner – Nouveau Flourite

Pendant created by Rhonda Chase ~ OOAK Gemstone: Faceted Green Flourite

Story Behind the Creation:  While in Italy I was deeply inspired by magnificent art nouveau buildings from the early 1900’s. There were many botanical patterns, which led me to design this art nouveau flower pendant. Nouveau Flourite is a play on words, combining the art style and the gemstone, and sounding like “nouveau fleur” which means “new flower” in French.

    I have been making jewelry for over 10 years but just started making wire-wrapped pieces. Judy\\\’s piece brought tears to my eyes, it is just so beautiful and the details are fascinating. It is also clear to me that Olga and Rhonda have a passionate and artistic eye as well. All of them are so well done. These artists are clearly ones to aspire to. They are all winners!
