Question:

I have 5 and 7 mm round gemstones but can’t find that size in the snapset castings.  Will they fit in another size casting?

Answer:

We are actually in the process of adding a larger variety of snapset finding sizes to our inventory.  While we ask for your patience, in some cases you can go up or down one size for round shapes, depending on the depth of the stone’s pavillion.

Thanks for the idea Bob, I’ll add it to my list. This also gives me the opportunity to tell you all that I answer tips questions about once a week and I work on 5 to 10 at a time, therefore sometimes answers can cross over each other. I have more detailed info about using snapsets on larger and smaller stones here: http://wire-sculpture.com/jewelry-making-blog/1072/how-to-measure-gemstones-for-settings/

Thanks for the disc-link bracelet pattern. It is easy to make and looks exciting for ladies to wear. It also has many possiblilties for different stones. Thanks again!
